puffit-x vaporizer

The PUFFiT-X up close.

When you first get a glimpse of the PUFFiT-X vaporizer, it looks just like one of those inhalators that people with asthma carry around with them, but it’s simplistic and low-tech look is the same factor that makes it one of the most high-tech vapes on the market today.

In fact, there was a previous version of the Puffit that came out before this model, so this one is it’s bigger brother.

Over the past several years, the learning curve in vaporizer design has been steep, with innovation after innovation being introduced into the marketplace, but this unit has some features that are really cool and that I’ve never seen before.

Let’s have a closer look – here’s my PUFFit X review.

How It Works

After you get your PUFFit-X, you need to charge it up for about an hour or two before you can use it.

All you do is remove the mouthpiece cap then plug the unit right into a wall outlet or use the USB charger that is on the vape’s left side. Once the little green light starts blinking, you are ready to fire up.

It took me only about a minute or two to figure out how to operate the fan speed.

There’s a little dial that you can adjust to get the air flow you want. My personal setting is 5 for some maximum vaping action.

When you are ready to use it, you simply turn it on by pulling off the mouthpiece cover and removing the aluminum top cap.

Then you just put your herbal blend into the filling chamber, place the cap back on, set your temperature level and you are all ready to go.

To activate the heat source on the PUFFiT-X, all you do is hold the top cap down for about 3 seconds. When the LED turns from red to green, you are ready to go.

One of the coolest things I liked about this vape is that it has a tiny built-in electric fan that does all the vaporization work for you through forced air vaporization.

As you inhale, the PUFFiT-X’s tiny fan forces hot air over your herbs and as a result, you get a steady, consistent stream of vapor into your lungs so you can enjoy a constant flow of vaporization.

And because it comes with it’s own silicone heat shield, you don’t have to worry about the it getting too hot or burning your hand or fingers off.

There’s a tiny computer inside there with a tiny itsy-bitsy microprocessor that uses temperature sensors to maintain a consistent temperature inside the gold-plated heating chamber. The computer is constantly monitoring the temperature (100 times per second to be accurate) to make sure it is always at a sweet spot.

Heat Settings

The PUFFiT-X takes about a minute to heat to the fully proper temperature, which is at or around the same as a lot of other vapes.

Once you achieve “lift off” though, the microprocessor and tiny fan keeps the gold-plated heating temperature at a constant temperature so you can re-vape in just seconds.

It also comes with a built-in automated temperature control system that allows you to adjust the vape temp according to your personal preference – from Level 1 (250 degrees) all the way up to Level 8 (a smokin’ hot 410 degrees!).

  • Level 1 – 250° F
  • Level 2 – 280° F
  • Level 3 – 300° F
  • Level 4 – 330° F
  • Level 5 – 350° F
  • Level 6 – 380° F
  • Level 7 – 400° F
  • Level 8 – 430° F

Battery Life

Given all the high-tech shenanigans going on inside, you probably would expect that it would require a higher power draw, which could reduce battery life, but the designers of this world-class vape already thought of that!

They’ve included a 90-second automatic shutoff feature that helps reduce drain on the unit’s power supply. All you need to do to reactivate the vaporizer is to tap on the top cover for a second or two and the computer kicks in to reheat the unit to its original temperature.

What’s In the Box

When you get the PUFFit-X, you get more than just the vaporizer itself.

It comes as a complete set that includes all the attachments and tools you need to keep puffing strong for many years to come – here’s what comes in the box:

  • Magnetic Mouthpiece Cap
  • Wall Charger & USB Cable
  • Charging Stand

This is how everything will look when it comes in.

  • Silicone Heat Cap
  • Neoprene Carry Bag
  • 3 Mouthpiece Covers
  • 4 Screens
  • Silicon Heat Cap
  • Wire Cleaning Tool
  • Filler Funnel
  • User Manual

One accessory that comes standard that I really found cool was the removable internal stir tool.

This lets you mix your herbal materials around the heating chamber without having to pop open the top cover, so you experience absolutely no heat loss. This can be a big problem with some vapes, so I appreciated the extra design element of this one because it lets me maximize my herb rather than being left with wasted herbs.

How to Take Care of It

As long as you clean it on a regular basis, you should be fine.

I usually use the wire cleaning tool after every sesh and haven’t had any issues whatsoever after almost 4-5 months.

Final Thoughts and PV Pro Tips

puffit xOver the years, I’ve tried a lot of vaporizers and while this one isn’t necessarily the least expensive, you definitely get a lot for your money.

With its adjustable blower, dial-up temperature control, and other features, the PUFFiT-X is just about the easiest portable vape to use once you get going, regardless if you’re new to the vaping scene or a veteran.

It’s actually one of the only vapes I’ve found that does all the work for you with it’s forced air technology.

In addition, it’s also really efficient, so you don’t have to pack the chamber with a lot of herb so you’ll have enough for more and more sessions.  (I made the mistake of overdoing it the first time and it took me a couple of tries).

All in all, a very solid buy.
