Rundown

With the ability to vape herbs, waxes, and oils, the Vapir Rise goes toe to toe with some of the best desktops and gives them a run for their money.

4.5
Pros: Super versatile, the only vaporizer that has a 4-person whip adapter, quiet, perfect for a group setting
Cons: Small learning curve, some of the pieces and adapters to tend to get a little too warm after you use it

vapir rise reviewUnless you’ve been living under a rock for the past bajillion years, you’ll know that the Volcano is pretty much the gold standard when it comes to desktop vaporizers.

The only issue with the Volcano (and I mean the only) is the hefty price tag that it carries. Not everybody can afford it, and because of this, this prevents a lot of people that are looking to get a quality desktop get their foot in the door.

That is where the new Vapir Rise comes into play.

These guys created their new desktop vape to compete directly with the Volcano and comes complete at half the price.

But is it worth it?

Let’s see how it competes with the Golden Boy in my Vapir Rise review.

How it Works

Preface

Alright, I’ll be the first to tell you that as soon as I opened this up, I was a little overwhelmed.

Felt like Macgyver opening this one up.

There are lots of parts to this thing, but once you dig in, it ain’t that bad.

In order to use the Vapir Rise to its fullest potential, you’re just gonna need to have a touch of patience initially because there is a small learning curve.

So the reason that the Vapir Rise is a little tough to digest initially, it’s only because you can vape in a 2 different ways:

  1. You can either choose to inflate balloons, or
  2. You can choose to use the plastic whips

These work for both solo and with a group and the multi-user adapter turns the Rise into a sort of new-age hookah for multiple smokers.

The good news is that once you put it together and get the hang of it though, you’re good to go from that point on. It’s just rinse and repeat.

Getting Started

To begin using the Rise:

  1. Flick on the power switch (on the back of the unit)
  2. Set your temperature (start at 375 °F)
  3. Set you fan speed (set to 2 or 3). In earlier models, the fan would stay on as long as the heat is on. This would inevitably lead to lost vapor when using the whips, but new 2.0 models have made it so the fan can be turned down separately from the heat.
  4. Listen to it heat up. Heating can take up to a minute or so, so perfect timing to grind up your herbs and get them packed.
  5. Grind up and drop in your herbs.
  6. Decision time

At this point, you need to pick one of the 2 options.

Either you’re going to vape using the whips, or the balloons.

Here’s how to set up both:

To Use With the Plastic Whips

  1. Grab a tube.
  2. Put on the inhalation adapter on one end.
  3. Put on the mouthpiece on the other end.
  4. Attach the inhalation adapter on the top of the Rise.
  5. Do your thing. 🙂

To Use with the Balloon

  1. First assemble the balloon using the balloon adapter.
  2. Attach it on the top of the Vapir Rise.
  3. Turn to the right.
  4. Make sure your valve is in the open position.
  5. Press on the “heat” button.
  6. Wait for the balloon to fill up (around 60 seconds).
  7. Press off the “heat” button.
  8. Close the valve before removing the balloon.
  9. Add on your inhalation adapter.
  10. Re-Open the valve.
  11. Press/Squeeze the balloon so that the vapor can come out.
  12. Night night 🙂

Heat Settings

The heat and fan settings are controlled via a touch panel on the front of the device.

You have a wide range of temperatures to choose from, but I have found that the Vapir Rise recommended temperature is between the 360 °F – 390 °F mark depending on what you are vaping and wish to achieve.

Battery Life

As a desktop vaporizer, there is no need for battery life or any worry about it running out of juice.

Just make sure to pay your electric bill and you are good to go.

How to Take Care of It

Cleaning and upkeep is always an essential part of vaporizer ownership.

The Rise is super-simple to clean and only takes maybe around 30 minutes tops.

  • Take the unit apart and wipe the base clean with a damp cloth and no cleaners. This will help keep the finish looking good.
  • Disassemble the herb chamber and connectors and let them soak in alcohol. Use a cotton swab to gently clean off any stuck herb residue you may have acquired.

The whips can easily be cleaned by soaking in alcohol, as well.

The bags cannot be cleaned, obviously, but they should be replaced when the bags begin yellowing.

There is a HEPA filter replacement included in the box, but this filter should not need to be changed very often at all – By not very often, I mean maybe yearly or so.

Final Thoughts and PV Pro Tips

I’ll say this – for the price and the features that it has, it’s practically impossible to find another desktop vaporizer that will compare to what the Vapir Rise can do.

In addition to its versatility, it not only works with just herbs and waxes, but the Rise also comes with an oil chamber that will heat up your essential and aromatherapy oils as well and it works great.

Just be careful because you shouldn’t use it with hash oil due to the low heat limit. 400 °F is pretty hot for herbs and green, but it is not nearly enough for hash oil.

So…bottom line time.

Is it a true competitor to the Volcano? It definitely gives it a run for it’s money, but nothing really compares to the Volcano, and with good reasons.

What I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s money well spent on a desktop.
